I recently went to my GP complaining of a hernia in my right groin. He referred me to a specialist surgeon who advised me that I would have to have the hernia surgically repaired and to my surprise, he told me that I also had one on the other side which would also have to be repaired. He said that it would be a “little painful” and that I would suffer some “minor discomfort” for a couple of weeks.
"Minor discomfort" -- what an understatement! This was one of the most painful and uncomfortable experiences I have ever had. It took about 4 weeks for me to get over the pain, but the “minor discomfort” lingers for much longer.
Like my surgeon, many Australian Migration Agents tell their clients that the immigration process and moving to Australia is a “minor discomfort”; but I beg to differ!
The Australian immigration process is a long, hard slog -- it is bureaucratically frustrating and lengthy: not to mention the many hazards and mistakes those inexperienced in the workings of the Australian Migration system, must endure. It is not just about filling out forms and ticking boxes, it is much, much more -- if it were that simple there would not be almost 5000 migration agents in Australia.
Similarly, Australian Immigration is difficult -- one has to leave all that is familiar - family, friends and colleagues, a secure job and knowledge of the system and the environment. Finding a job, a new home, buying a car and enrolling children in school are just a few of the huge and difficult decisions for new migrants.
Migration is not for everybody and it is a hard process; don't let anybody tell you any different. What works for you, may not work for somebody else. There are no right or wrong answers -- everyone has to do what works for them.
That is why it pays to use a migration representative who is not only highly experienced in the field of Australian Immigration Law, but also understands the immigration process and moving to Australia first hand.
At IMMagine Australia both directors, Colin Adno and Myer Lipschitz have been through the migration process personally. They understand the emotion of leaving your home country and moving halfway across the world; they understand the questions that get asked when packing a container with all your household contents; but most importantly, not only are they qualified migration advisors (having more than 40 years experience between them), but they have endured the "mild discomfort" of the immigration process, and the move to Australia personally!
